Chrysler Group has announced a limited edition Alfa Romeo 4C after the release of standard 4C coupe. 4C is the latest small mid-engine sports car from the Italian manufacturer, Alfa Romeo.
This next generation sports car is built around 1.75 litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine paried to six-speed Twin Clutch Transmission (TCT) with rear-wheel drive. Having an output of 240 horsepower and 350 Nm torque, 4C has the tendency to achieve 100km/h in 4.5 seconds, while the top speed is 258 km/h.
Alfa Romeo 4C was first presented as a concept car at 2011 Geneva Motor Show and won several awards. The car entered its production phase last year and is now all set to dress up in Launch Edition label. Launch Edition is differentiated from the standard 4C on its sporty exterior design and paintjob, red and white interior accent and serialized “Launch Edition” plaque.
It has also been confirmed that only 500 serialized units of Launch Edition will be produced and sold through 86 Alfa Romeo dealerships at a retail price of $68,400. It seems to be a dynamic comeback of the Italian automaker after Fiat completely acquired its parent group, Chrysler. The latest development is part of Fiat’s $74 billion investment plan for Maserati and Alfa Romeo.
