So, the magnificent 2015 Geneva Motor Show is just round the corner with all its grandeur and enthusiasm, and the automobile giants look impatient to flaunt their new creations and impress their customers. Recently, the German automaker, Audi did the same by unveiling its 2015 Audi R8 supercar, just some days ahead of Geneva Motor Show.
Thanks to Audi, we got to see the fresh images and details about this supercar, which is going to be part of the extravagant car exhibition very soon. The Audi R8 carries a mid-mounted, dry-sumped 5.2-liter V10 which generates a heady 602bhp. Power is shifted to the wheels through a 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch gearbox. The second-generation R8 bounces from rest to 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds and touches its top speed at 205 mph. Yes, you guessed it right, it’s as fast as the Lamborghini Huracan but the wheel base is 3 cm wider, and it weighs 50 kg less (1,555 kg) than its predecessor, V10 plus.
It also has got a 40 per cent more stiff chassis as compared to previous V10 plus model which gives it a tighter body control. Additional features include launch control, manual paddle shift mode, three automatic modes (comfort, auto, dynamic) and face-distorting carbon-ceramic brakes. Gas mileage is also increased by the coasting function of the S-Tronic gearbox, which lifts the clutches once the vehicle reaches above 34 mph.
It would cost around €165,000 for the base V10 and €187,400 for the V10 Plus.
