Audi America has revealed the pricing details of its latest plug-in hybrid electric, 2016 Audi A3 Sportback e-tron, which is the automaker’s first PHEV and also the first electrified Audi to lay wheels on the US soil. The car will be available at the dealerships this October, with prices starting from $37,900.
The all-new 2016 A3 Sportback e-tron privileges a variety of amazing features including Xenon plus HID headlamps, LED tail lights along with fog lights, LED interior lighting package, and advanced remote key for doors, fuel door, tailgate and ignition. Other standard characteristics include an automatic dual-zone climate control, multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel and rear view camera with front and rear parking sensors.
The Audi A3 sportback e-tron 2016 comes with unique drive modes, that offer drivers to select from EV, Hybrid, Hold Battery and Charge Battery, which allows the car to balance the amount of source energy between its electric motor and gasoline engine. The car boasts a 1.4 liter TFSI engine assisted by a liquid-cooled, permanent magnet-driven electric motor that enables it to generate 204 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque channeled through a six-speed S tronic transmission to power all the wheels. The electric powertrain gets the muscle from an 8.8 kilowatt lithium-ion battery pack.
Among higher trim levels, the Premium Plus costs $42,000, while the Prestige comes at $46,800, excluding $925 of the destination charges.
