The Camaro SS is available in 6 powertrain combinations including a 2.0L Turbo, an all-new 3.6L V-6 and the LT1 6.2L V-8. The latter is SAE-certified at 455 hp making it the most powerful Camaro SS ever built. The engines are available with 6-speed manual or 8 speed auto transmission.
The 2016 Camaro SS is at least 200 pounds lighter than predecessors for a more responsive performance on the road. It is available in 10 exterior colors, five interior color combinations, lighting options (including 24 different ambient lighting effects for the interior) and was aerodynamically optimized with 350 hours of wind tunnel testing. Another first for the 2016 model is the Magnetic Ride Control active suspension which further enhances handling and performance. Also featured is a Drive Mode Selector making the vehicle suitable for multiple terrains. The four modes offered are Snow/Ice, Tour, Sport and Track settings.
A recently released video of the Camaro SS road test confirms the car’s transformation into a roadworthy sports car with its small size making it maneuverable even on tight roads and the considerable engine power upholding its reputation as a muscle car.
