Nissan, has given a new definition to sporty drives when it introduced the all-new 2016 Maxima sedan at 2015 New York Auto Show. Over the last decade, Maxima, which is one of the longest running models by Nissan has evolved from sporty four door drive to a luxurious sedan. Comparing the first and the eighth generation Maxima, one can tell that Nissan has surely revolutionized this car series by reshaping its style, performance and aura.
The traditional sporty look has been replaced with a more luscious look with a 1.3-inch drop in height and an overall 82 pounds reduction in weight. However, it is 2.2 inches longer than the previous model. The Nissan official website mentions that the designers visited the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels to get the inspiration for the new Maxima. It is sculpted to achieve a sweeping aerodynamic profile, and a special metal stamping technique is employed that adds a jet-fighter effect to this vehicle.
The 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels with a diamond cut finish partnered with the new grille, floating roof and signature LED lightings to make this sedan stand out among all other competitors in the market. Talking about the interior, this 4-door sedan offers a cockpit inspired by the layout of a modern fighter jet. Sitting on the comfortable high-end leather seats you will find all the functions, buttons and switches exactly within reach. The center console is adjusted exactly 7 degrees towards the driver. The display commander positioned just behind the gearshift gives a complete control over the infotainment. The 8 inch display and the BOSE speaker surround system provide an engaging and fun drive.
The safety features offered by Maxima include Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Blind spot warning and adaptive cruise control that ensure maximum security to the driver.
