Aston Martin Valkyrie
The official name for the Aston Martin newest hypercar code named AM-RB 001 has been decided and it will be called as ‘Valkyrie’. The Aston Martin Valkyrie takes its name from a god belonging to Norse mythology and it means ‘chooser of the slain’.
Talking about the Valkyrie, the Aston Martin’s chief creative officer Marek Reichman stated that each Aston Martin model name has a deep meaning and so does the Valkyrie, which denotes uncompromising power.
Regarding the engine specifications, we know the Valkyrie will be powered by a hybrid 6.5L V-12 mill, which churns out 1,000 horsepower. It is developed by the UK based company, Cosworth. The hybrid batteries are supplied by Rimac Automobili.
Multimatic will be constructing the Aston Martin Valkyrie’s carbon fiber monocoque and the overall weight of the hypercar will be 2,200 pounds. Moreover, the automaker has revealed that the Valkyrie will be using Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires for an excellent road grip and impressive handling.
The LED headlights and taillights of the hypercar will also be developed by a UK based lightning manufacturer, Wipac. The automaker will build a total of 175 units of Valkyrie hypercar out of which 25 will be track only models. The official revealing ceremony will take place sometime next year.
