The BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe has been announced at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show. The stylish vehicle is supposed to be the best embodiment of the BMW brand, and this is the reason the Gran Coupe is named ‘M8’ where ‘M’ represents BMW’s efforts of giving ‘more’ to the customer. In essence, everything is enhanced to meet the latest technological standards and satisfy customers.
The BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe is a manifestation of the car market’s shift toward the four-door coupe model. The look of the M8 resembles the lush 7 series. However, the M8’s front end looks very extravagant with a bold and sporty front bumper and the ever-present BMW signature grille. At the rear end, the vehicle has dual exhausts, angular stoplights and a ducktail styled trunk to complete the athletic look.
Commenting on the importance of the M8 Adrian van Hooydonk, senior vice president of BMW Group Design said, “The BMW 8-Series will take over as the new flagship model of the BMW lineup and, as such, combines unsurpassed sportiness and elegance,” and further remarked, “The BMW Concept M8 Gran Coupe offers a look ahead to the most exotic and alluring variant of the new BMW 8-Series.”
The longer wheelbase and the flashy green color add a bit more character to the car. The cabin sits far away from the long front-end that will particularly provide a panoramic view to the driver of the expansive hood.
It is common for production model of cars to differ from their concept versions. What will pass down to the actual model will only be seen once the 8-series is formally released this summer or fall.
