Founded back in 1903, Ford is one of the few automobile companies that have witnessed the heroes of WW1 and WWII. As a tribute to the Women Airforce Service for their service in WWII, Ford is all set to pay once in a lifetime tribute to these brave women and their spirit.
The company plans to launch its WAS custom-made Ford Mustang 2021 MACH-E for auction at the upcoming Air venture Charity Auction. The money raised through the event will also go directly to the charity.
Boosting the spirit of young women over the years
According to Ford’s official announcement, the Air venture auction has two main objectives. One, to pay tribute to the brave ladies that put their lives on the line to defend their country from the sky.
Second, to raise a charity fund once again for the deserving youth and aspiring women who want to make a career in the field of aviation. So far, Ford has raised a total charity amount of 4 million USD during 20 years. In these 20 years, Ford has auctioned 12 aviation-themed automobiles during the Air venture.
What’s different with this year’s custom Ford?
For the past 20 years, Ford has been supporting the cause of the Air venture by auctioning its custom-made top-notch motor vehicles. This year, the company has decided to go fully electric as well with the Ford Mustang 2021 MACH-E SUV.
The custom paint job includes a full-fledge military-style paint including all major badges and military ranks. As the Women Airforce Service was well known for flying all kinds of top-notch military planes in WWII, the company has made sure to include US Army Airforce Star as well.
