The Venom GT, launched earlier this year at the Kennedy Space center, hitting a speed of 270mph was thought to be the best Hennessey could come up with, but apparently automaker has more to offer. In an interview with Top Gear, the owner John Hennessey revealed that a Venom F5 with 290mph top speed would soon be unveiled.
As per reports, the Venom F5 will possess optimized aerodynamics, advanced technology and more power while keeping its weight within 2,866 pounds. The car would hold a 7.0 liter twin turbo V8 producing 1,400 horsepower making it more powerful than ever.
The Venom F5 with its carbon bodywork is anticipated to be notably heavier, meaning the car may exceed 1,000bhp per ton considering its power-to weight ratio. Along with the six-speed manual transmission, the F5 will be offered with a single-clutch paddle-shift gearbox and a GPS based traction control system to calibrate the track before you even reach it.
Hennessey plans to unveil Venom F5 by next year while promising deliveries by 2016. An initial production of over 30 cars is planned as prices are yet to be decided. However, it is apparent that it will cost more than the $1,200,000 Venom GT.
