German automaker Mercedes-Benz is all set to enter to a new segment of sports cars with its all new Mercedes-AMG GT. This is the second sports car designed in-house by AMG, following its predecessor, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG.
For now, Mercedes-AMG launched two models of this premium sports coupe: GT and GT S, having almost similar power units that feature a 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. For the standard GT, it produces 462 horsepower and 600Nm of toque, while GT S engine generates 510 horsepower and 650 Nm of torque.
These outputs enable the GT and GT S to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 4.0 and 3.8 seconds, respectively. Both versions use the same seven-speed AMG Speedshift dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive system.
A wide rear end, long bonnet, large wheels and gullwing doors add to the exclusive exterior of this car, while a practical luggage compartment with a capacity of two golf bags is covered by a large tailgate. The spacious and modish interior of the Mercedes-AMG GT ensures maximum sportiness and dynamic character using authentic materials, echoed details and state-of-the-art technologies.
The new Mercedes-AMG GT will compete at a whole new level against none other than Jaguar F-Type, Porsche 911 and Chevrolet Corvette. With this car, Mercedes aims to set new performance and efficiency standards.
