Nissan Motor Co. is already known to produce the world’s best-selling electric vehicle, the Nissan LEAF. Now the company is all set to bring out its second vehicle that follows 100% electric mechanism. The all new Nissan e-NV200 is a light commercial van and will soon be available in European markets.
The powertrain of Nissan e-NV200 is same as that of Nissan LEAF. It encloses a 24 kW-h lithium ion battery, which can produce up to 110 horsepower and 280 Nm torque. With the single speed constant ratio, the e-NV200 can travel at a top speed of 150 km/h. The new light commercial van is designed to serve the urban cargo delivery and taxi companies.
The production of this latest electric vehicle has already been started in Nissan’s Barcelona production plant at a cost of €100 million. This plan is a part of overall £431 million project that the company intends to invest in Spanish operations.
The all new e-NV200 will only be produced in Spain at Barcelona production facility, and will be supplied to around 20 international markets. The latest developments in low carbon emission vehicle segment will strengthen the position of Nissan Motor Co. in global automotive industry.
