Porsche seems to be advancing toward its goal of developing fully electric cars and has just made a plug-in hybrid Porsche that will be available next spring at the starting price of $189,450. Dubbed as the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo, it is essentially a five-seat wagon featuring a powerful engine, which is sixth in the line of Panamera Turbo series.
The most powerful Panamera Turbo now has more space than ever. The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine combined with 14.1kWh lithium ion battery and 136hp electric motor gives a net power of 680 horsepower. An eight-speed dual automatic clutch funnels this power evenly to all four wheels making it capable of reaching 0-60 mph in as little as 3.2 seconds.
The interior of the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo should have enough room for five people, while the pet be adjusted with some luggage in the boot. It would feature leather clad seats, touchscreens, touch capacitive buttons and power steering plus. The performance is ensured through carbon-ceramic brakes, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, Porsche Active Suspension Management with adjustable-height air springs, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control Sport, and the essential Sport Chrono package.
The price would be significantly higher with the addition of number of extras Panamera has to offer. But considering the power, torque and its high-tech as well as sophisticated interior that would be worth every penny.
