Tesla has released the list of cars its customers can trade to get the Tesla Model 3 sedan. The most common among them are the Honda Accord, the Honda Civic, the Toyota Prius, the Nissan Leaf and the BMW 3. Tesla made the Model 3 targeting the budget luxury sedan segment but its appeal skyrocketed with potential buyers trading in flagship cars of other brands.
Each of the mentioned cars are sales leaders in their particular segment. The Honda Civic, for example, leads the market for the compact sedan category in the US, while the Accord comes in second. On the other hand, the Toyota Prius is liked most by hybrid lovers while the Nissan Leaf is famous among EV lovers in the US.
Tesla is not holding back as the company has been able to make 5,000 Model 3s frequently in the 2nd quarter. The company hopes to extend its production capacity to 6,000 Model 3s per week and then finally to 10,000 sedans per week by 2019.
