On Earth Day, when the world shows its love for the planet, BMW presents the gift of BMW i8. The car’s impressive looks have been getting a lot of fame since it was introduced as a concept car in 2009. So much so that eventually we saw Tom Cruise driving it in Mission Impossible.
The swing-up butterfly doors, the rear bumper and the front grille are a marvelous shift from conception to production. And with all those perks of driving a super car, you don’t even have to worry a lot about the price.
The beautiful looks and affordable price are not all that it’s got. The car has a unique characteristic that is not present in other hybrid cars like Porsche 918 or McLaren P1, or even the Ferrari LaFerrari.
The customized features of BMW i8 add a 1.5 liter turbocharged inline three-cylinder gasoline mill sitting alongside a 7.1 KW lithium ion long life battery. The engine generates just 231 horsepower and 320 Nm torque, coupled with an electric motor producing extra power. Although, this small engine does not make the car sound very impressive in terms of power, its performance is pretty spectacular. It’s evident that BMW has gone one step further into the future.
